SPICED CANDIED NUTS ½ pound walnuts ½ pound pecans ¼ cup honey 2½ Tbls brown sugar 1 Tbls Chili Powder Salt to taste Preheat the oven to 350. Place the nuts in a steamer basket set over simmering water and steam for 2 minutes. While the nuts are steaming, whisk together the honey, brown sugar and chili powder in a large bowl. Add the hot steamed nuts to the sugar mixture and toss well to coat the nuts thoroughly. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THE NUTS ARE HOT WHEN YOU ADD THEM TO THE SUGAR-HONEY MIXTURE. Coat a nonstick baking sheet with oil. Spread the nuts on the baking sheet in a single even layer. START CHECKING AT 5 MINUTES! Bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
